Cutting red tape for mobile businesses working across local council boundaries
Food truck operators, buskers, outdoor fitness trainers and other mobile businesses can now more easily set up and operate across different council areas. The new flexible scheme means that approval to operate by one council can be recognised by other participating councils, without the need to obtain separate approvals.
This removes the duplication associated with seeking separate approvals, helping small mobile business potentially reach new customers, whether during a weeknight or weekend market, community event, or festival.
What does this mean for your small business?
Only one approval may be required to operate across multiple local government areas
More time trading and less time on administration
Greater collaborative opportunities with a diverse range of markets, local events, and other small businesses.
The Mutual Recognition Scheme supports more vibrant and lively public spaces across NSW, allowing communities to enjoy a mix of rich experiences and small businesses to grow and diversify.
