Applications for the 2026 Waverley Art Prize are now open and will close on 10 May 2026
The Waverley Art Prize has been running since 1986 as a painting and drawing prize. The Prize is aimed at emerging to professional artists, with four award categories:
The Open Prize: $15,000 and acquisition into the Waverley Council Collection.
The Mayor’s Prize: $2,000 and acquisition into the Waverley Council Collection.
The Local Prize: $1,500 non-acquisitive sponsored by Waverley Woollahra Art School.
The People’s Choice Prize: $500 non-acquisitive.
Applications for the 2026 Waverley Art Prize are now open and will close on 10 May 2026.
The funds raised through the art prize support Waverley Woollahra Art School and help them sustain their role as the longest running artist run initiative in Waverley.
Local artists are recommended to subscribe to to the Waverley Weekly for updates.
