Opened in 1908, the Enmore Theatre is steeped in history and character. The Enmore Theatre hosts a diverse lineup of live music, comedy, theatre, and cultural events that celebrate both its rich heritage and contemporary performance. The Enmore is one of only two surviving Art Deco theatres in Sydney – and the only one preserved in its full original condition.
Established in 1908 and located in the heart of Newtown’s vibrant arts precinct, the Enmore presents a year–round program of live music, comedy, theatre, and special events.
Renowned for its heritage charm, world–class acoustics, and intimate 1,600–seat auditorium, the Enmore has hosted generations of iconic international and Australian artists — from The Rolling Stones, Coldplay and PJ Harvey to Midnight Oil, Amy Shark and Hannah Gadsby.
Operated by Century Venues, the Enmore Theatre is a vital part of Sydney’s cultural landscape, contributing to the local economy and community through hundreds of annual performances that attract more than 400,000 patrons each year.
The venue’s programming supports emerging and established talent alike, serving as a bridge between artists and audiences across genres. As part of the Enmore Road Special Entertainment Precinct, the theatre also anchors a thriving hospitality and nightlife district that celebrates live performance as a defining part of Sydney’s identity.
