Grey Street, Glen Innes NSW 2370
The annual Christmas in the Highlands - Illuminations will transport Grey Street and the Glen Innes CBD into a festive wonderland for one evening combining Christmas lights and creative installations with entertainment, markets, food, retail and cultural activities. Artistic activations, live performances, children's activities and roving entertainment will contribute to a street carnival atmosphere celebrating the beginning of summer and the festive season.
Glen Innes Severn Council has now opened expressions of interest for individuals, businesses, schools and organisations interested in participating in the 2026 event. Originally established as a community Christmas celebration, the event is developing into a significant regional attraction and placemaking initiative. Its expansion is being supported through three years of funding under the NSW Government's Open Streets Program.
Opportunities and EOIs are now open for performers, musicians, community groups and schools, children's activity providers, artists and other creatives, performers, event production and technicians and Lighting and illumination specialists.
Proposals are being sought for live entertainment, children's workshops, creative installations, production services and contributions to the Christmas Light Trail.
Information documents can be downloaded from the Glen Innes Severn Council website.
Expressions of Interest should be submitted to eventsofficer@gisc.nsw.gov.au by Friday 14 August 2026.
