The Newtown Enmore Precinct, defined by the iconic high streets of King Street and Enmore Road, is a vibrant microcosm of Sydney’s diversity. For generations, it has stood as a haven where communities from all walks of life — including successive waves of migrants, urban First Nations peoples, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people of all religious and political beliefs — have found a sense of belonging.
What sets Newtown and Enmore apart from other centres in Sydney is its distinctly different character — a character that draws diverse communities from across the Inner West and Greater Sydney. This diversity enriches the social and cultural fabric of the precinct, making it a vital contributor to Sydney’s identity.
